What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling to eliminate up to 25% of stubborn fat in treated areas with each treatment. Simply put, CoolSculpting freezes and damages fat cells. The results are proven, noticeable, and lasting.
Which problem areas are best treated by CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is most commonly used to treat stubborn areas of pinchable fat on the:
- Abdomen & Flanks
- Bra Fat & Arms
- Love Handles & Muffin Top
- Inner & Outer thighs
- Double chin
What side effects may happen?
Some sensitivity in the treated areas is normal and may include – redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, firmness and some temporary discoloration of the skin and they resolve on their own.
Rare side effects may include:
- Paradoxical hyperplasia – Rarely the treated area can become enlarged because of swelling of tissue. This would occur two to five months after the treatment and may require surgical treatment.
- Subcutaneous generalized hardness or nodules can develop in the treatment area and may be uncomfortable. These do resolve over time.
- Dizziness, light headiness, nausea, flushing, sweating and fainting may occur during or immediately after your CoolSculpting session and resolves on its own.
- Rare cases of late onset pain can occur in the treated area, (typically the abdomen) and is controlled with medication if needed.
Who is not a candidate for CoolSculpting?
If you have cold induced syndromes such as cryoglobulinemia, paroxysmal cold hemoglobin urea, Reynaud’s Disease or poor circulation. CoolSculpting should not be used around areas of hernias as it may worsen hernias. CoolSculpting is a contouring treatment designed to treat pinchable fat in targeted areas. CoolSculpting is not intended as a weight loss solution!
How long does it take for results to occur?
Once treated, your body will naturally eliminate the treated fat cells from the body over a 12 week period.
