What is Refirme Skin Tightening? How does skin tightening with elos technology work?

The FDA-approved ReFirme™ ST procedure combines safe and effective levels of infrared light and bipolar radiofrequency energies to remodel the dermal layer of the skin by stimulating new collagen growth. Both laser and radiofrequency have been used separately for decades in medicine and surgery, but the ST exclusively combines infrared light and bipolar radio-frequency energy for ideal treatment outcomes with a very low risk of side effects and virtually no down-time.

What results can I expect from the treatment?

The ReFirme ST Applicator offers virtually painless and fast treatment for skin tightening. Conventional skin tightening treatments are time- and treatment-intensive and often too painful for many patients. With the ReFirme ST, you can have tight, firm skin without surgery. ReFirme is ideal for targeting those telltale signs of aging, including, jowl and neck laxity, sagging under the eyes, saggy brow lines, and nasolabial folds.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients will have between 3-5 sessions typically 3-4 weeks apart. The best results are seen 3-6 months post completion with maintenance every 6 months.

What should I do before my treatment?

Although the Reirme Skin tightening treats ALL skin types, Laser treatment should be avoided when you have a fresh suntan or sunburn. Patients taking the drug Accutane should avoid any laser treatment until medically cleared by your physician. Retin-A or bleaching creams should also be discontinued 3-7 days before treatment. During your consultation, we’ll review any medications or supplements that you are currently taking to help determine the appropriate course for your treatment.

Will it be uncomfortable? What can I expect with the procedure?

Refirme is a gentle, comfortable treatment requiring no downtime. Many patients return to normal activities immediately after the treatment. Cooling of the skin’s surface provides enhanced safety and additional comfort. Most people experience no side effects, though a few may exhibit some short-term local reddening

Once my sessions are completed, will I need maintenance sessions?

Maintenenance treatments can be done once every 6 months, or even sooner if you desire. Most patients see gradual and cumulative results throughout the Refirme skin tightening treatments. The total number of required treatment sessions depends on the patient’s skin condition.

What areas of the body does the Refirme Skin Tightening Treat?

ReFirme™ ST can improve skin laxity and sagginess of the face, neck and some body areas such as the abdomen or upper arms. Skin texture can also be smoothed out by the tightening and firming effect of treatment. This treatment is performed non-ablatively, which means this is a non-invasive procedure. Most people leave the treatment office with only slight pinkness or no pinkness at all. Patients can return to normal activities immediately.
