What is Fractional Resurfacing / Sublative Rejuvenation? How does it work?

The eMatrix system's ergonomic applicator delivers bipolar radio frequency energy via a matrix of 64 electrodes in the disposable applicator tip. The RF energy generates fractional deep dermal heating in the region of the electrode matrix to induce skin injury, thus eliciting a wound healing response. Mild to moderate wrinkles and superficial skin discoloration are reduced, and skin texture becomes more smooth and elastic.

Who should be treated with Fractional Resurfacing / Sublative Rejuvenation?

Treatment is a safe and effective solution for all skin types. This technology treats acne scarring, pigmentation, and wrinkles and improves texture.

What results can I expect from the treatment?

After treatment, you may notice tone and texture improvements as a result of increased levels of beneficial collagen and new healthy skin cells, which are produced. With the treatment's dermal impact, mild to moderate wrinkles and superficial skin discolorations are reduced.

How many treatments will I need?

Typical treatment protocol is 3 treatments, 4 - 6 weeks apart. The total number of required treatment sessions depends on the skin condition of the patient.

What should I do before my treatment?

Laser or light based treatments should be avoided when you have a suntan or sunburn. Patients taking the drug Accutane should avoid any laser treatment until medically cleared by your physician. Retin-A or bleaching creams should also be discontinued 3-7 days before treatment. During your consultation, we’ll review any medications or supplements that you are currently taking to help determine the appropriate fluence for your treatment

Will it be uncomfortable? What can I expect with the procedure?

During treatment, many patients feel a warm, prickly sensation as energy enters their skin. After treatment a pink or red "sunburn" appearance and feeling is also common. Topical anesthetic ointment is applied for 45 minutes prior to treatment to reduce discomfort.

What should I expect after the treatment?

You should expect a pink or red “sunburn” appearance with mild inflammation that can last 2 or more days. This is common and expected. After care instructions will be given following the treatment, as home care is important.
